Exe Valley, Devon

Set within the rolling landscape of the English countryside, this much-loved cottage in the Exe Valley has been gently evolved over time into a deeply personal and characterful home, with the studio overseeing the ongoing development of both the interiors and spatial layout.

The project has been approached as an exercise in layered, collected living, where inherited pieces, antiques and found objects sit comfortably alongside more considered architectural adjustments. Softened palettes and natural and timeworn finishes reinforce a sense of quiet authenticity, allowing the interiors to feel entirely in keeping with their rural surroundings.

The home unfolds across a series of intimate, atmospheric spaces, each thoughtfully composed to balance comfort with visual richness.

Creating is a space that feels both grounded and enduring — a home shaped as much by memory as by design.
